Rev. Barry Kidwell
Minister of Outreach | Director of Mustard Tree Ministries
Barry joined the clergy staff of First-Centenary UMC in 2015 and has over 40 years of pastoral experience. While in college Barry met his wife, Diana, at Lee University. They graduated on May 7 of 1983 and got married on May 14! They are parents to 3 children, David, Kathleen, and Zak. Barry and his family love the outdoors, hiking, fishing and rafting/canoeing. Diana is a Big Orange fan, the rest of the family are LSU Tigers!
Barry graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary in 1988 and became an Elder in Full Connection in 1991. In June of 2004, he was called to Forrest Avenue UMC. This is where Mustard Tree Ministry (please note it is tree, not seed, for a reason) became a reality. Forrest Avenue was closed sometime around June of 2010. During that season they worshiped under the Walnut Street Bridge for a while on Sunday mornings. Barry has a passion for the forgotten people of Eastern Europe (the Roma). Please ask how you can get involved in this ministry.
