COVID Safety Measures

The health and safety of all our congregation, staff, and visitors is our top priority. We are following John Wesley's teaching to do no harm, by implementing the following safety precautions.

Phase 4

begins August 21, 2021
In Phase 4, groups will be able to schedule meetings during the week.  Outside groups will be unable to use the building in Phase 4 unless approved by the Senior Pastor.  Masks will be recommended for adults.  Youth and Children continue to have mask protocols in place.  Any changes in mask protocols, in Phase 4, for Youth and Children will be approved by the Senior Pastor in consultation with the Directors of the Youth and Children’s Ministries.  Fellowship meals can be served if certain safety protocols are followed.

November 7th edit: Masks are welcomed but not required for adults. Masks are recommended for Children and Youth activities.
Please note: No covered dishes will be served in Phase 4

Operations

Church Hours of Operation
Main and Oak Street Center
  • Staff (alarms off)-Monday thru Sunday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Members and Public-Monday thru Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Available Entrances Monday-Friday

Please enter through the Main Building Welcome Center. All entrances are open on Sunday. 

Available Use Areas- All rooms will be available 

Entering the Building

  • Non-staff will be able to enter the building Monday thru Friday, 9 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Other times can be scheduled through the Director of Facilities).
  • Administrative teams will be encouraged to continue to meet online.
  • There will not be a restricted number of persons in a group as long as social distancing can be observed in the room that you meet in.
  • If you are meeting during the week or for Sunday School please do the following:
  • Register attendance each week in Sunday School classes. 
  • Follow safety guidelines of washing hands frequently, covering mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing and avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth. 
  • Masks are welcomed but not required. 

Worship

  • Masks are recommended.
  • Ushers will hand out bulletins.
  • Live stream will be available.

Youth / Children’s Programs

  • Masks are recommended for youth and children. Any changes in mask protocols in Phase 4 for youth and children will be approved by the Senior Pastor in consultation with the Directors of the Youth and Children’s Ministries.

Youth Re-Opening Plan

Phase 4

Basic Description

  • Sunday School resumes with social distancing and masks. (No breakfast)
  • Wednesdays from 5:30pm to 7:00pm – In-person fellowship and shortened Bible Study in the Youth Lounge (aka – “The Pit”) where students can be socially distanced
  • Masks required.
  • Food will be served but served by one gloved person and pre-packaged.
  • All surfaces disinfected before and after meetings.
  • Game Room Open – Masks required, cleaning before and after.

Special Procedures:

  • Seating will be spaced 6 feet apart.
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be posted by the doors.

Children's Re-Opening Plan

Phase 3A  

Basic Description

  • Sunday School Online Videos & At-Home Activities: PreK, Elementary, & Preteen.
  • Friday Night Bible Stories on First Kids FB Group.
  • Parent Devo on First Kids FB Group.
  • Sunday School available for ALL children, no large group time.
  • Childcare, birth to PreK will be available during the 10:45am worship services.
  • In-Person Family Worship Available; Children’s Worship Bags handed out at the door.
  • Children will not be dismissed from church following the children’s moment.

Special Procedures

  • Touchless Check-In/Check-Out Stations in Children’s Welcome Hallway. (5)
  • Drop off/pickup outside classroom doors; staff fill out entry questions for each child.
  • Temperature taken at entry of room with “no contact” thermometer; write on form. 
  • Masks required for the Busy Blessings 2 yrs. & up; seating is 3 feet apart for elementary.
  • Gloves worn when passing out supplies, toileting, diapering, feeding *infant/toddler 1 only
  • Supplies/toys sanitized by spray or run through the dishwasher/washing machine.
  • All surfaces disinfected before & after gathering. (CM Staff wipe off door knobs, etc.)

Phase 3B

Basic Description

  • Sunday School Online Videos & At-Home Activities: PreK, Elementary, & Preteen.
  • Friday Night Bible Stories on First Kids FB Group.
  • Parent Devo on First Kids FB Group.
  • Sunday School available for ALL children, begin large group time. (3 feet spaced out)
  • Childcare available, PreK Hallway open (birth to preK5).
  • In-Person Family Worship Available; Children’s Worship Bags handed out at the door.
  • Children will not be dismissed from church following the children’s moment.
  • FirstKids LIVE! New elementary worship service at 10:45am in The Oak Street Theater, off the Children’s Welcome hallway. 

Special Procedures

  • No staff/volunteers with pre-existing conditions allowed.
  • Gloves are worn when passing out any supplies, toileting, diapering, feeding.
  • Supplies/toys sanitized by spray or run through the dishwasher/washing machine.
  • All surfaces disinfected before & after gathering.
  • Food/drinks allowed, water fountains closed.
